Welcome Back

It has been lovely this week to have our school full again. The children have settled really well and are enjoying being back with their friends.

The playground has been filled with noise and laughter. The fabulous weather has also helped this week’s full return to be a success.

Glow/Grow Notes

As a Rights Respecting School we encourage our children to be kind and helpful to others.

We have introduced Glow and Grow notes as a means of communicating with parents. If your child receives a Glow note it means that he/she has been particularly kind/helpful/hardworking and is being recognised for that.

A Grow note is issued when a child needs a gentle reminder about making the correct choices in their interactions with others.

Red Nose Day

To support Comic Relief our children and staff have come to school today in casual clothes or wearing red today.

We have managed to raise £309.22

Thank you!

Face Coverings

Please remember that face coverings must be worn when dropping or collecting your child from school (unless exempt), even if you are not entering the school gates. Please make sure all adults that collect your child are aware of this requirement.

Staggered Start Times

Please do not send your child to school until his/her start time. Some children are entering the playground way before their allocated time. This is not fair to the families who are following the procedures.

I need everyone to adhere to this please.

Parent Consultations

Next term teachers will report on the children’s progress on two occasions.

At the beginning of the term every family will be offered a telephone call from their child’s class teacher. This will be a 10 minute phone call to update you on how your child has settled back into school, discuss the level your child is working at and to set any appropriate targets for the remainder of this session.

Time slots will be allocated and sent to parents before we stop for Spring Break.

Towards the end of next term all children will receive a written report commenting on their learning throughout this session.

Class Photographs

On Wednesday 28th April Tempest Photography will be in school for P1 and P7. Photographs will be taken individually and then put together as a class group. Proof photographs will be sent home and then purchases can be made on line. More information will follow.

All Covid Guidelines will be followed throughout.

Wildlife Garden

We are currently working on clearing out Wildlife Garden. We have a group of parents coming into school next week to help. If you are available to offer any help with this please contact the school office and ask to speak to Mrs Henderson.

Parent Council

Our Parent Council meets online the first Thursday of every month. All parents are welcome to join the meetings. If you would like to attend please let me know and I can send you the meeting link.

Our next meeting will take place on Thursday 6th May at 7.30pm.

Thank you!

A huge thank you for the many kind emails throughout the most recent period of lockdown. The last few months have been incredibly difficult for so many people and it helps to know that Ladywell Primary has a very supportive parent community.
