LADYWELL PRIMARY SCHOOL
As we come to the end of a school year that has been like no other, I would like to thank you all for your continued support. The children have coped remarkably well with the disruption of lockdown, however I am hoping that next session will be more settled and children will learn in school all year round.
I really hope that everyone manages to relax and enjoy the summer break.
I look forward to seeing returning pupils and meeting new pupils in August.
Have a great summer!
A huge thank you and goodbye to two members of our PTA and one member of our Parent Council.
Karen Maxwell and Lisa Mossman have been very involved in PTA events for a number of years and Denise Ritchie has been a valued member of our Parent Council. The children of all three ladies are now moving onto secondary school. I would like to personally thank all three for their commitment to our school and for all of their hard work over the years.
Outdoor PE Uniform
Starting next session I am re- introducing the uniform code for outdoor PE. This will consist of black leggings or jogging trousers, a white or yellow plain coloured t shirt, a black sweatshirt/hoodie. These items must be plain with no logos or branded in any way.
Crop tops and patterned leggings will not be acceptable.
This will start from August 2021.
Please note that hair accessories should be school colours, yellow or black. Novelty headbands are not part of our uniform code and should not be worn to school.
I would really appreciate parental support with this.
End of session Reports
End of session reports will be sent home with the children next week. Please return the feedback sheet to your child’s teacher before the end of term.
Classes for Next Session
Information will be sent out via email before the end of term giving information about your child’s class and teacher.
Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions regarding the mixing of bubbles, we will not be able to offer the children the opportunity to meet their new teacher before the end of this term.
Wear Yellow Walk
Our P6 and P7 children recently took part in the Wear Yellow Walk, raising a fantastic £2,641 for St Andrew’s Hospice.
A huge thank you for all the donations.
This year Sports Day was held in classes. Points were awarded and the overall winning House was Avon. Congratulations!
P7 Leavers Celebrations
On Monday evening our P7 children celebrated the end of theirtime at primary school with an outdoor party. They enjoyed dining outside, bouncing on the bouncy castle and dancing to the music provided by our in house DJ, Mr Colquhoun. A great time was had by all!
Our Leavers Assembly will take place on Wednesday23rd June at 9.30am. Again, this will be held outside and live streamed for P7 parents through Teams. Fingers crossed that the sun shines!
