Cost of the School Day and Financial Information

Cost of the School Day

There is no doubt that talking about money and the cost associated with the school day can be hard.  At Ladywell we know that financial worries can cause stress for parents and carers and possibly affect how children feel about school.  We recognise the need to reduce the Cost of the School Day for all pupils and provide support wherever we can.  Below you will find lots of helpful information about support available and how to access support, including links to get in touch.

Breakfast Club

Our breakfast club runs from 8.15 am to 8.40 am each day and is available to all.  The breakfast consists of cereal, milk and toast.  This is free to pupils in Primary 1 to 5 and pupils in Primary 6 to 7 who are entitled to free school meals (this will be adjusted in line with the Scottish Government extension of free school meals).  For all other pupils, the cost is £1 per day with a sliding scale for families of two at £1.50 and families of three at £1.80.

Free School meal entitlement P1-5

Currently all pupils in Primary 1 to 5 are entitled to free school meals.  You do not need to do anything for your child to receive this.

Free School Meal/Clothing grant application

If your child/children do not fall into the above criteria and you think you may be entitled to free school meals please click here. This form also covers clothing grants which is currently £150 per primary school aged child.  Please contact the school if you require help with the form.

Uniform pop-up

Our Ladywell Preloved uniform Pop-up has proven popular in recent years.  Our donations are sorted and quality checked to ensure we find a home for uniform that has been outgrown by others but still has plenty of life left in it! For the first and last months of the school year, it is positioned at the front entrance of the school on dry days.  Please feel free to come and help yourself.
